Our Ideal Candidate As a Lifeguard, you will be entrusted with the safety and well-being of our guests at the pool and beach areas, ensuring that every moment is both enjoyable and secure. Beyond surveillance, this role requires a calm, confident, and guest-oriented professional who embodies both vigilance and warmth, upholding the highest standards of safety while delivering genuine, intuitive service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Safety & Surveillance Ensure constant supervision of the pool and beach areas using professional lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques. Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies, incidents, or guest concerns, following resort safety protocols. Maintain all safety equipment, including life rings, rescue poles, and first-aid kits, in proper working condition and easily accessible. Administer first aid or CPR as required, ensuring swift and professional emergency response. Enforce safety rules in a courteous, guest-focused manner while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Guest Interaction & Service Warmly greet guests and provide courteous assistance throughout their pool or beach experience. Distribute towels, amenities, and refreshments as needed to enhance guest comfort. Offer guidance on pool, beach, and water safety with professionalism and discretion. Support the Pool & Beach team in maintaining an inviting and relaxing environment aligned with luxury standards.
Pool & Facility Maintenance Conduct regular water quality checks including temperature, chlorine levels, and p H balance, documenting results accurately. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the pool (vacuuming, brushing, surface cleaning). Ensure all pool deck, loungers, umbrellas, and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times. Coordinate with Engineering and Housekeeping to report or resolve maintenance issues promptly.
Administration & Compliance Maintain daily logs for pool maintenance, water testing, and safety inspections. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to pool operations, emergency response, and safety compliance. Ensure all certifications, including CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard training, remain valid and up to date. Support safety drills and continuous training programs to enhance preparedness and awareness.
Qualifications & Experience Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Lifeguard in a 5-star luxury hotel, resort, or private club. Valid Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certification. Strong swimming ability and demonstrated proficiency in water rescue techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and confident demeanor. Proficient in English; additional languages such as Arabic or Russian are an advantage. High level of physical fitness, attentiveness, and responsibility. Professional grooming, composure under pressure, and commitment to guest safety. Flexibility to work in outdoor environments, including weekends and public holidays.
